:

Streets of countries can be considered as display window of the situation of social problems and the amount of the presence of children who work. Especially in major cities, it can be a criterion which shows depth and extent of these problems. Child labor is cause of many other social issues and also raises affects them. Child labor can be caused by poverty, especially cultural poverty and it can lead children to addiction, delinquency, violence and continuation of poverty.
Imam Ali Student-People Relief Society -In Consultative Status with ECOSOC- is one of the nongovernmental organizations which for many years, has been concentrated on Social harms as well as study approaches against poverty. In many analysis and researches have been done, facts show an inter relationship between child labor and poverty. Considering these facts, the society decided to define projects against Child Labor “program of Elimination Child Labor in Iran” in 5 years. This is not supposed to be just a project, but it is a Social Movement.
The first phase of this movement is to inform society and increasing public awareness about the situation of child labor all around the world and inside Iran and talking about physical and mental consequences of that on children.
In first step we held on gatherings at 6 universities with presence of students and professors to attract active members for movement.
